Re: Costs of requests from Pyramid Lake and Walker River Paiute Tribes versus what is being spent in Washoe County
Date: August 27, 2016

I have attached an Excel Workbook (click here) outlining the fully loaded costs of the requests from Pyramid Lake and Walker River and have compared them to the costs for Washoe County wide (albeit without any costs included for Election Day – which would be substantial).

Bottom Line – total cost for Pyramid Lake request:

Analysis assumes hiring of and training of Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Members under the supervision of Luanne Cutler

Cost of Voter registration office…………….$792.00
Cost of Early Vote Site (open for 108 hours)…..$4,178.80
Cost of Election Day voting in Nixon………….$494.60

Total Cost of Pyramid Lake Paiute request……..$5,465.40

Compare to Lake Tahoe (Incline Village)

Analysis assumes hiring of and training of Incline Village residents

Cost of Early Vote Site (Open for 84 hours)……$3,285.00
Cost of Election Day voting………………….$467.50

Total Cost of Lake Tahoe location…………….$3,752.50
This assumes that Incline Village is the only election day polling location near Lake Tahoe in Washoe County

Costs for Early Voting Locations in Washoe County other than Lake Tahoe

$3250 per site times 20 sites………………..$65,000.00

    Cost for Walker River request

Cost of Voter registration office…………….$594.00
Cost of Early Vote Site (open for 108 hours)…..$3,132.00

Total Cost of Walker River Paiute request……..$3,703.80
