Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada Letter

On October 21st, the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada sent out a letter to Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske urging her and county officials to open early voting polling sites on a number of tribal reservations, and at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony and the tribal health clinic in Las Vegas.

Federal Judge Mirandu Du declared that the Secretary of State must follow all provisions of federal and state law relating to elections in Nevada, which includes making sure all tribal members have equal access to voting in every form.

Additionally, the Council approved a resolution authorizing Four Directions to work with county officials to ensure that tribal members feel comfortable participating in the electoral process. We look forward to working with Secretary Cegavske and county officials to make this happen.
